Festive Seasonal Cocktails for Every Holiday

October 10th, 2013 | News | 0 Comments

It’s time to accept it; summer’s over, and fall has begun. After you find storage space for that leftover case of tiny umbrellas or pallet of coconut shells, take a look at these tasty holiday recipes using real juice mixers, guaranteed to delight bar patrons and party-goers alike.

For Halloween, try a Witches’ Brew (known in March as a “Shamrock Beer”):

  • ½ oz. Taste Of Florida Blue Curacao
  • 12 oz. beer

For this spooky concoction, a glowing, green, otherworldly presentation is key. Remember art class: Yellow and blue make green, so for the desired effect, choose a beer with a bright yellow hue: a wheat beer, pilsner, or a hearty IPA. Serve cold in a festive stein. For an extra ghoulish appearance, drop a candy eyeball in the bottom the glass. (FYI: The sugar will dissolve off the candy and further sweeten the drink. Use candy garnishes sparingly.)

If you’re looking for a spiced cocktail with a kick to top off Thanksgiving dinner, check out our Spiked Ginger Soda:

  • 1 oz. Taste Of Florida Green Apple
  • 7 oz. ginger ale
  • 1.5 oz. vodka
  • 1 apple, sliced
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon

Using the sliced apple, moisten the rim of a hurricane glass. Combine cinnamon, sugar, and dust onto a plate. Place the glass upside down on the plate, allowing the rim to pick up as much of the cinnamon-sugar mixture as possible. Add ice, combine ingredients, and stir. Garnish with apple and a stick of fresh cinnamon.

Searching for a decadent drink to usher in winter? Try a Red Velvet Cake Martini:

  • 2 1/2 oz. cake-flavored vodka
  • 1/2 oz. Taste of Florida Grenadine syrup
  • 1/2 oz. Taste of Florida Pina Colada mix
  • spritz of seltzer

Fill shaker with ice, and add cake-flavored vodka, grenadine, Pina Colada mix, and seltzer. Shake lightly, and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with a candy cane. To really please the sweet-tooth, top this dessert drink with whipped cream and decorative red sugar sprinkles. (Tip for adding whipped cream: Line the rim first, coating the top of the drink in a circular motion toward the center. This creates a “dam” of whipped cream and will help avoid unsightly drips down the side of the glass.)
