A new secret ingredient for your margaritas

December 19th, 2013 | News | 0 Comments

Traditionally, good margaritas are known for their zesty lime flavor as well as the bite of tequila at the end.

If you’re like me, however, you enjoy neither the sour taste of limes nor the bitter taste of lingering tequila; those flavors can be a little too intense for people like me. The taste of tequila is especially difficult to mask for those who do not enjoy the shot by itself (or those who recently enjoyed too much of it and do not enjoy reminiscing the taste).

Luckily, I have found a unique add in for my own margarita recipe that quells the tequila and lime for those who enjoy a more mellow beverage and at the same time offers a unique spin for those who enjoy the classic margarita but are a willing to be a bit more more adventurous with their drink. A win-win for both the mild as well as the bold!

So what is this secret ingredient? A splash of amaretto! The addition of this super sweet liqueur to the traditionally sour drink makes for a unique flavor that dilutes the sting of tequila more than the typical marg-mix; making the drink a sweet new experience for all and a more enjoyable one for many people like me.

For an added twist, amaretto can be served on the side to be merely sipped in between drinks or added into the drink at the discretion of the drinker.
